LOCAL ICON MAKER

Generate a multi-size ICO

Create one Windows-compatible ICO with the sizes you select. Transparent PNG, WebP and AVIF sources retain their transparency.

Embed these sizes

Every selected size is stored inside one .ico file. For the sharpest result, start with a square source that is at least 256 × 256 pixels.

Tips and examples+

PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

Generate a useful ICO from one clear square source image

ICO is a container that usually includes several pixel sizes, allowing a browser or operating system to pick an appropriate layer. A source image with a clear square silhouette survives small sizes better, and a transparent source can retain transparent areas.

Example: add a favicon for a website

Prepare a square PNG with comfortable edge padding, select 16, 32, 48, 64, 128 and 256 pixels, then create the ICO. A site should normally provide PNG or SVG favicons as well for modern browsers; the ICO can serve as a compatibility layer or Windows icon asset.

Before you use it

  • At 16 or 32 pixels, are the primary shape and colors still easy to identify?
  • Do the chosen sizes cover the website favicon, application icon or Windows-shortcut use case?
  • Keep the original design file; the ICO is an exported icon asset
