About this tool+

Choose a portrait image and use the default Fine Edge Portrait (MODNet) for closer checks of hair and clothing edges, or switch to Fast Portrait (MediaPipe) for a quicker try. A dedicated worker applies the local portrait mask, creates PNG output and composites white, blue, red or gray background. This is a portrait cutout tool, not a general product-cutout claim; your image is not uploaded to the application server.

Frequently asked questions about AI Portrait Background Remover

Frequently asked questions+

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Fine Edge Portrait (MODNet), Fast Portrait (MediaPipe), worker-side mask application and PNG output stay in the current browser. The prebuilt runtime and selected model are downloaded by the browser only when needed.

How do Fine Edge Portrait and Fast Portrait differ?

Fine Edge Portrait (MODNet) is the default and is better suited to checking fine hair and clothing edges, though its first model load can take longer. Fast Portrait (MediaPipe) is intended for a quicker try, and complex edges can look different. Both modes run locally.

Can it cut out a product or any object?

It is not designed or marketed for that. The product boundary is a person in the foreground; product shots, transparent objects, difficult foregrounds and multiple people are not guaranteed.

Why does switching the background become quick?

After the current mode makes the portrait mask, its worker keeps it for the session. Switching transparent, white, blue, red or gray does not run that portrait model again.
